MobileSpa was a concept by enterpreneur Cebuan del La Rochette for, well, a mobile spa on wheels. Other than being capable of providing assorted basic spa services and selling related products, the vehicle would also include as many sustainable materials and green technologies as possible. It was my task to perform research for various aspects of the vehicle and related technologies and materials, design the interior and exterior as needed, and eventually communicate with the manufacturer.
In the first phase of my research I studied various Recreational Vehicles for the potential of providing the basic platform. They needed to be large enough and have enough internal space to heavily modify, but not so large that they'd be totally impossible to park and use in urban environments.
After considering many vehicles, we settled on an RV by the manufacturer Country Coach as the basic platform. Here are some relevant references.
Among my suggestions for consideration to include in the vehicle were materials such as sustainable bamboo, various recycled materials, and technologies such as transparent solar panels and a grey water recovery system.
With the above dimensions in mind, I tried out various basic interior layout plans. Here are some of them. After looking at the first layout and some consideration of urban environments where the vehicle would often operate, we concluded it would be impractical to have the vehicle expand on both sides.
And finally (in this abbreviated recap), illustrating a number of presentation slides on the general theme of "And the MobileSpa could also go in THIS kind of place!". Here is one of them.
Ultimately this version of the project didn't go much further forward from this point, however there would be a sequel, seen elsewhere on this website...
